Young Professionals
The Young Professionals of the Metropolitan Orlando Urban
League meets every 1st Tuesday at the Disney SBA Center. We are an affiliate of the National Urban League Young Professionals
(NULYP), a network of young professionals, across the country who provide leadership development, economic empowerment and
community volunteer opportunities for other young professionals. The organization trains, develops, and educates young professionals
to take leadership roles within the National Urban League, the civil rights movement, and society-at-large. Members of NULYP
are defining, developing, implementing, and leading the next generation civil rights agenda.
NULYP's mission is to engage young professionals in the National Urban
League's movement towards the achievement of social and economic equality. NULYP does this by providing an effective forum
through which young professionals can support the Urban League's more than 100 affiliates in 35 states and the District of
Columbia.
Metropolitan Orlando Urban League
As the largest agency in Central Florida dedicated to empowering the minority
community, The Metropolitan Orlando Urban League has built a reputation for having high quality programs, and a caring and
helpful attitude towards the people who come to us for help. The Metropolitan Orlando Urban League's best method for meeting
the challenges of the changing economic climate over the Central Florida area is to prepare the dependent segment of the population
to become independent by mastering the skills, which are required for them to create better life options.
The history of the NAACP, is one of blood, sweat and tears. From bold investigations of mob brutality, protests
of mass murders, segregation and discrimination, to testimony before congressional committees on the vicious tactics used
to bar African Americans from the ballot box, it was the talent and tenacity of NAACP members that saved lives and changed
many negative aspects of American society. While much of the NAACP's history is chronicled in books, articles, pamphlets and
magazines, the true movement lies in the faces---black, white, yellow, red , and brown---united to awaken the conscientiousness
of a people, and a nation. This is the legacy of US, This is the legacy of the NAACP!
Elimu PLS is an adult coed book club in Orlando Florida that intelligently discusses topics raised in selected
literature, while discussion is moderated by a facilitator at the monthly meetings. The dialogue is intended for all people
no matter how learned in the subject matter.

Circle of Friends provides
Orlando with premier after work networking events. Our mission is to provide a relaxed atmosphere that promotes social and
business-to-business networking in a professional environment. We accomplish this by organizing different events such as Jazz
Nite, Power lunch, Wine Tasting and much more. Careful consideration goes into deciding on our locations, in order to maintain
an urban professional atmosphere. COF is committed to developing business relationships
and long lasting community bonds. We have achieved this through our networking events and partnering with various community
organizations.
The Network is comprised of African American Professionals in and
around Orlando coming together to establish value, add opportunity, and to prosper. Our mission is... “We seek not to
merely inform and assist, but to enable and empower”- this is the foundation of “The Network”. It is our
aspiration that all professionals of Orlando are able to use The Network as a platform for the enrichment and prosperity of
the Black Community. THE NETWORK is aimed to unify the professionals of Orlando to achieve a higher level of success.
